look what the solstice faeries left!!!

Our Newest Additions!!

This year the solstice faeries left DOLLS! The boys love them & have been taking care of them nicely!! I need to get some better pictures of them, but here they are! I plan on posting more about our winter solstice activities, but for now I just wanted to share these sweet dolls!

I custom ordered them from Duck Duck Goose Toys, check out her little shop on etsy! They are perfect and she went way out of her way to get them to me by the Solstice!!!

Now I need to get busy making some doll clothes!!!

O Christmas Tree

Oh, HI!! I haven't posted in a while! I really miss blogging, I take so many more picture when I do and I love looking back at what we did in previous years. So I need to catch up a little!
We went to Johnson Tree Farm, a beautiful local tree farm. We could have spent the day there (or moved in)! We hiked around and cut down our tree, played on the slide, playhouse, and vintage tractors, bought things from their wonderful gift shop, checked out the goats and chickens, and the owner was super nice! I didn't take many pictures, but there are a few-

Johnson Tree Farm will definitely be a yearly tradition for us:)

my birthday

A few pictures from my birthday weekend (in July). We went camping in Big Sur and spent my birthday on my favorite beach...
32!

My boys in one of the many driftwood structures on the beach:)

Everest started yelling "a snake, a snake", I thought he was being silly, but finally saw this centipede (or millipede, idk) in the sand. Not exactly a snake. Although we did see a big snake on the 1 mile hike back to our car, G almost stepped on it, but I didn't get a picture...

Evie turned 2!

My sweet little Everest turned two years old on June 7th.
Your life started with a beautiful and quick home birth in a birthing tub.
You were an easy, mellow, agreeable baby.
Learned to keep up with your brother quickly.
An early riser, you seem to love 5am, and as tired and worn out as I may feel,
your face is always like a beaming ray of sunlight,
bright and beautiful,
ready to meet the day.
Through sleepy eyes I always smile and am lifted by your brightness.
Much stronger willed these days, I will never forget the fit the you threw because you
"want to ride a dolphin"
Beautiful boy, thank you for choosing me as your mommy.

Our Christmas

I haven't posted much lately, between the holidays and family in town, my time on the computer has been limited! Now, with things slowly shifting back to 'normal', I wanted to share a few pictures from Christmas day-

Kylan at 6am waiting to open presents!

Everest is wearing his new pirate-pig apron, Kylan got a dragon apron, I'll have to get a picture with them both wearing it...

Everest opening his rainbow gnomes from Green Mountain Wee Wollies on etsy.

Hand knit froggy blankets made by my mommy (Oma) in the background-

A blurry picture of our Christmas morning-

Kylans socks, he asked me to make them for Christmas, so even though they were done a couple months ago, he wrapped them and put them under the tree and did not open them until Christmas:)
***

After the morning festivities, we headed down to the coast to Wilder Ranch ( I love, love, love that place). The boys gave there bikes a try, followed buy a long walk and a picnic-

Ok, he does look girly with this hair, but I just can't cut it!!

Hope you had a memorable holiday!

My 4 year old...

Now you are 4 years old!
Kylan turned 4 on the 7th. We went to Irvine Park, one of my favorite places to take the kids when we are in Southern California! It is beautiful, cheap, no lines, lots to do! We went on the train, road ponies, hiked around, went on multiple playgrounds, feed ducks in the pond. We saw squirrels, peacocks, had a picnic, and it was a perfect day! There is also a little zoo we didn't make it to this time, but it was so much fun:) Here is Kylan, elated, waiting for the train ride:)

*I am grateful for the day*

recent outings:)

We ventured to Waddell Beach , which is part of Big Basin State Park. It was a beautiful, cold day-

We went to a Halloween sugar-cookie making party. I didn't get many pictures because my camera ran out of batteries:( It was a little wild, several preschoolers and there toddler siblings all making sugar cookies, but it was so much fun! The germs get baked off...right?

Kylan in a bonnet:)

We also took a trip to Half Moon Bay to Lemos Farms. There were LOTS of people, including a few school buses full of children. A bit overwhelming, but Kylan did get to ride a pony, a train, pet goats, pick out a pumpkin, and have a picinic:)

Good times-

Celebrating Mabon

We celebrated Mabon by decorating a little bit for fall, setting up our nature table, feasting on apple-squash soup, cider bread, and pumpkin pie, and playing in the mud. It would have really felt like fall time had it not been 95 outside! Our small, mostly uninsulated house was sweltering hot by mid afternoon!

Playing in the mud...

Kylan's fall gift was an apple lacing toy from A Toy Garden. He spent a lot of time working on and Everest is quite fond of it too! Happy Autumn!

apple pickin'

We went apple picking at Gizdich Ranch in Watsonville this week. Very cute farm, good pie! Kylan was bouncing off the walls he was so excited to go! The trees where all dwarf apples, perfect for little ones:)

I know, I need to cute his hair!

Everest wouldn't look at the camera, he gets like that sometimes. It was pretty hot, notice his little red cheeks?

Happy Fall!
