our newest addition

...a grafted '3 in 1' bareroot tree with peach, nectarine, and apricot:) It's hard to get a good picture of sticks, especially when the garden behind it is a mess! Next week my husband has a few days off work & we hope to get busy prepping the garden:)

beautiful days

The weather has been so lovely...cool, sunny, then rainy... I love it! We went to a local park that my son calls 'spider beach', it's actually called Highlands Park. It had a lot to offer...a skate park, a senior center, a ball field, lots of wild outdoor spaces, hiking trail, play ground, a spider web like climbing structure, a tennis court, party areas, a preschool, lots of events, a river...one area near the river is sandy like a beach, others rocky. We spent a couple hours there the other day and it was so renewing! I had never really hiked around there before, it was quite beautiful!

WIP Wednesday!!

It's WIP Wednesday!

So I haven't posted for a while! I did finish my husbands socks for Valentines day, but I don't have a current picture, you can see the almost done the last time I posted a WIP. I'm currently working on this...

It made of super soft organic Merino wool, hopefully it will fit my little guy, but if it's too small I know 3 people having a baby boy in the next few months so it may end up a gift:) It's a sweater vest, in the picture it is folded in half and buttons down the side. I love this pattern!!

Here are a few little hats I made for a baby shower I recently went to:)

mushrooms

Interesting lecture!

I've been thinking of trying to grow mushrooms from plugs. Anyone have experience with this?? It would be soooo great to harvest your own mushrooms and know they are safe to eat! Yum!

enough to make a mama proud....

This little boy....

Yes, this one. The one that can be so extremely difficult at times. The one who likes to do things his way. The boy who just got a haircut that makes him look so.much.older, yes him!

Today I was *trying* to get Everest to nap and I left Kylan in the living room with some art supplies. Well, I heard some noises and was laying there nursing Everest, wondering what he was doing and if I should get up and check. When I finally did get up, to my surprise he had...

Cleaned up all his art stuff, scrubbed the table, put his toys away, moved the chairs and little rug so we could vacuum....and....and! he mopped the kitchen floor with a wet rag (like we usually do, the floor was quite wet) ALL BY HIMSELF!!

I almost cried! I am doing something right! (or maybe I'm giving myself too much credit) I have really changed my thoughts about housework since becoming a mom and try to do chores in a matter-of-fact way, without complaining or whining. I mean, I'm sure he still feels my internal eye roll at times, I also try to never force him to clean up. Its not a punishment, it's just what we do, part of life, part of honoring our things and taking care of our home. It has helped me a lot, and now it is paying off!!!
Sweet boy!
